This is the official UK launch of No Help No Handouts Media UK release of Slakah The Beatchild's forthcoming project ‘The Slakadeliqs’

The official online release drops On December 2nd, 2012 via No Help No Handouts Media. Slakah The Beatchild will be making his way across the Atlantic for the first leg of his European tour, kicking off the proceedings in Shoreditch,
London @ Macbeth’s on December 4th, 2012 with the backing of The Remedies, a prolific band who have toured with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Mikill Pane and many more!

The debut album of The Slakadeliqs project, The Other Side of Tomorrow, (North American Release) was greeted the same day with a co-sign from fellow Toronto native, Drake. The rapper/singer, whose song ‘Between Us’ feature Slakah, tweeted, "One of my favorite producers I ever worked with just dropped his album."

Slakah’s thoughts

“When I'm Slakah the Beatchild I strive to create soulful hip hop, whereas with the Art of Fresh it's more about upbeat
electro soul, disco and house fused with classic hip hop from the early 90s. The Slakadeliqs is a whole new sound and vibe,” says Slakah. “The psychedelic rock and music in general in the 60s and 70s had so much heart and just felt real. I wanted to develop another element of creativity and explore new sounds and compositions.”

Slakah’s incredibly diverse talents and vision are rooted in the Afrobeat, reggae & calypso that Slakah grew up listening to at home with his parents, who came to Toronto from the small West Island of Carriacou. His hip hop production style pays homage to hiphop’s gritty, soulful mid-90s glory days, and artists such as J-Dilla, Slum Village and Outkast. A prolific hip hop-urban-soul producer, he’s worked with the likes of Drake, Nelly Furtado, Justin Nozuka and Glenn Lewis.

Supporting The Slakadeliqs at the London show will be Lizzie Nightingale, whose debut EP ‘Tiny Teardrops’ has received rave reviews from radio and throughout the blogsphere. BBC Radio 1’s Ally McRae said, “it’s a really strong EP, Alone for me being the stand out, grandiose, triumphant and almost cinematic. She has got one damn strong voice."

Also supporting on the night is Skripture, an artist, musician and producer from West London with no musical boundaries. Skripture is the first artist from the UK to release on No Help No Handouts Media, with his debut single, ”Bark (Back It Up)” dropping worldwide on December 9th 2012. He was a founding member of the collective The Truth MoveMENT, having the likes of Michael Kiwanuka & Angel as its members. He's produced for Bashy, IAM1 & Saukrates and shared the stage with Donaeo, Angel, N-Dubz, Pussycat Dolls & JLS.
